It’s no coincidence that two members of team SAGE are the recipients of distinctions that are becoming of professionals in their capacity. Dr. Faiz Makdisi, who was recently named an ASCE Fellow, and Mr. Kyle Dushane, who received a Distinguished Alumnus Award from his alma mater, Minnesota State University – Mankato, are outstanding examples of professionals who exhibit an enthusiasm for their area of practice.
Fellows are those individuals who have made celebrated contributions and developed creative solutions that change lives around the world. A prestigious honor held by fewer than 3.5% of ASCE members, Dr. Makdisi has 40 years of applied research and practiced experience in geotechnical and foundation/earthquake engineering.
The Distinguished Alumnus Award from Minnesota State University – Mankato is given to those who best exemplify the university’s educational objectives, as evidenced by having a strong technical foundation in civil engineering, successfully transitioning into business or management, and having participated in a local, regional, or national professional engineering society, standards committee, or state/local board. In addition to his growing technical experience, Mr. Dushane is active in ASCE, a member of SAGE’s Rope Access team, and a champion for job site and work place safety.
At SAGE we encourage employees to become active members of the engineering and geology communities, enrich their skills, and continually build upon their success. We’re proud to witness the storied achievements of Dr. Makdisi and the infinite potential of Mr. Kyle Dushane.
