Zack Washburn has over 15 years of professional experience in engineering geology and has evaluated geologic and seismic hazards for numerous projects in the western United States. Mr. Washburn specializes in geologic investigations and slope stability evaluations for critical infrastructure including dams, tunnels, wastewater treatment plants, and primary roadways. He also has a strong background in active tectonics and has performed fault evaluations for public schools and commercial development projects.
In addition to traditional engineering geology expertise, Mr. Washburn is the co-leader of SAGE’s geotechnical instrumentation team. He has designed and installed instrumentation systems to monitor movement of penstocks and gas pipelines operated by utility companies.
He has managed projects from design through construction including scope/cost development, preparation and review of plans and specifications, construction observation services, materials testing, and special inspection. Mr. Washburn has managed engineering staff, field technicians, special inspectors, and subcontractors.
