SAGE is pleased to announce the promotions of Drew Kennedy, PG, CEG, Darren Mack, PE, GE, and Marc Ryan, PE, GE, to Vice Presidents, and Tom Sell, PE, to CFO. Together, their experience and dedication make them a dynamic force helping to shape and support the future of SAGE.
Additional changes at the executive level also include the restructuring of the Board of Directors. Joining SAGE President Steve Sanders, PE, GE, on the board is Tom Sell and engineering consultant Pat Lucia, PhD, PE, GE. The primary responsibilities of the board is to guide SAGE’s strategic initiatives, weigh-in on major decisions, and influence how the company is managed.
With over 25 years of professional experience in engineering geology, 13 of which have been at SAGE, Drew Kennedy formed SAGE’s geosciences group and continues to serve as the technical lead over the company’s geologists. In addition, Drew has played a key role in expanding SAGE’s presence in the water and power sectors.
Darren Mack has 19 years of professional experience, 12 of which have been at SAGE. Responsible for the development of the company’s civil, structural, and geotechnical staff, Darren has provided oversight and guided SAGE’s services on several multi-million-dollar on-call contracts.
Specializing in earthquake engineering and site response analyses, Marc Ryan has 19 years of professional experience. During Marc’s time with SAGE, he has been instrumental in the formation of SAGE’s dam safety and earthquake engineering team based out of our Oakland office, and the expansion of our services to the eastern U.S. and internationally.
Tom Sell joined SAGE in 1998 as a staff engineer. During his 18 years with the company, Tom would become the firm’s Operations Manager, a Principal Engineer, and today serves as the company’s Chief Financial Officer.
Pat Lucia has served as a consultant to SAGE since 2014. As an owner of a small consulting firm in the San Francisco Bay Area, Pat was instrumental in growing the company from 100 to over 1,000 employees. Along with serving on SAGE’s Board of Directors, Pat is also an adjunct civil engineering professor at UC Davis. Pat’s wisdom has been and will continue to be invaluable to SAGE as the company continues to grow.
